1. Overview
The Model HSHD-7720 Benchtop Consistometer is used to determine the length of time a given cement slurry remains in a fluid state at a desired temperature and pressure. This data is then used to compare various cements. The tests performed are known as Thickening Time Tests.
Cement slurry is placed in the consistometer, pressure and temperature are increased according to the API schedules, or the specific schedules desired by the user, and the consistency of the slurry is recorded as a function of time. An automatic shut-down feature cools the instrument, and shuts down the heater and motor upon completion of the test.
Benchtop Consistometer has the characteristics of rugged design, easy to operate and programmable temperature controll, etc.
2.Features and Specifications
The Model HSHD-7720 Benchtop Consistometer measures the consistency of cement slurries at temperatures up to 400°F (204°C) and pressures up to 20,000 psi (138MPa). The instrument has built-in safety features for safe operating at high temperatures and pressures. The unit’s control system software runs the instrument and generates reports and graphs.
The consistometer consists of a pressure chamber that holds the slurry cup sample, a heater, cooling coil, and various operating components and subsystems described in this section.
